Jukka Korpi has worked as a choreographer, dancer, director and an actor also in fields of theatre, film, opera, circus and musical both in Sweden and abroad. He has toured with own productions both in Sweden and internationally. He was in Finals in the international solo dance competition “Das beste Deutsche Tanzsolo 2007” in euroscene-Leibzig with his piece One two. He has worked with directors such as Ingmar Bergman, Inger Åby, Saara Salminen-Wallin, Torbjörn Astner, Catherine Parment, Titta Halinen, Timo Nieminen and Tanja Lorentzon. He has had several collaborations with artists Lotte Nilsson-Välimaa, Teemu Mäki and Margareta Petré, and with composers Sten Sandell, Liselotte Norelius, Akemi Ishijima, Max Wallin, Jean-Francoise Laporte and Girilal Baars. He has worked as a dancer for choreographers such as Claire Parsons, Staffan Eek, Ulrika Wedin, Lotta Gahrton, Gunilla Heilborn, Christina Caprioli, Anna Koch and Steffi Lund. He has also created both scenography and costume for his work Soprum – The Guttural Throat of the Mother Earth. During 2012-2023 he worked as an Artistic Director for the Swedish-Finnish Theatre Institution UusiTeatteri. Jukka Korpis debut book as a writer, The Moon is sleeping, was published in spring 2024.
